GAME OVERVIEW
Copycat deals with some pretty heavy stuff, like family problems, being abandoned, and just… a lot of emotional messiness. If you are feeling down or struggling with stuff like that, you are not the only one. Talk to someone you trust—your friends family, or even a therapist. Seriously, do not ignore your feelings. Take things slow and look after yourself.
So, Copycat is this indie game that tells a super emotional story. It’s about a cat who gets abandoned, and then a human who has to give them up. Both of them have a lot of emotional baggage, and together, they try to figure out what “family” and “home” even mean. The game is really pretty to look at, but it doesn’t shy away from some deep, sad themes. It’s like an emotional rollercoaster—be ready for your heart to hurt.
You play as Dawn, this shelter cat who doesn’t want to be there. She thinks she’s wild and plans to escape the second she gets the chance. She’s all tough and cynical, but then she meets Olive—this lonely, older lady who’s been mourning her old pet. They start bonding, and it’s like they heal each other, becoming this perfect little pair of broken souls. Only Up: SKIBIDI TOGETHER
But then, everything goes wrong. Olive gets sick, and a stray copycat shows up and kinda takes Dawn’s place. So now, Dawn’s gotta leave and fend for herself on the streets.
You’ll be running through alleyways, jumping over fences, and climbing rooftops as you try to figure out where “home” even is. The game moves at a slow pace, giving you time to feel the love, the loneliness and the heartache of the story as you go along. It is not an easy ride, but it makes you think.
