GAME OVERVIEW
Earth’s Shadow is this game about a guy named Alexi-Ru, right? And it’s all set in the year 3081 on this weird, dark planet called Sumbra. It’s, like, this super creepy place, and there are stories about all these crazy valuable relics hidden there. Everyone thinks it’s the ticket to a better life, so people are always trying to explore it… but they end up finding out something way worse than they thought.
Alexi-Ru, well… he’s stuck in this lame job, flying a cargo ship around. It’s so boring that all he really does is zone out, dreaming about the wild stories he’s heard about Sumbra – or, as some people call it, Earth’s Shadow.
See, Earth has been gone for centuries, like totally dead, and most humans live far away now, in other parts of space. But some still talk about Earth’s old history, and the planet Sumbra is kind of like a reminder of Earth’s dark past. Some even call it a shadow of the old world. Fear the Spotlight
So yeah, Alexi-Ru gets super obsessed with Sumbra. Like, every time he flies by it, he gets this urge to, like, see something – anything – on the planet’s surface. He’s always hoping his radar will pick up something, anything, that’ll make him stop, or at least slow down to look.
One night, though, his wish comes true in the worst way possible. His ship messes up and he ends up crashing on Sumbra. And he can not believe it. He’s actually on the planet he’s been dreaming about for so long.
But then, right before he crashes, he spots this book flying across the cabin. It’s called When Day-Dreams Turn To Nightmares. He kinda freaks out and mutters to himself, “That doesn’t mean anything,” but honestly… he’s already kinda freaked out. Still, he grabs his gun, a Tec-9000, because it’s not like any is turning back now. He has to explore Earth’s Shadow.
