GAME OVERVIEW
You wake up in a creepy carnival, all twisted and messed up, and see this golden-haired lady just throw herself down a bottomless well… all for you. You’re freaked out, so you try to find answers and get help from these weird, creepy creatures—there’s cackling ravens, an eyeball-less scribe, a living furnace, a messed-up mermaid, and tons of others who live in the park. And the whole time, you hear this terrifying scream from way up on a giant roller-coaster, and you realize that until you can stop this creepy shadowy thing, the woman will just keep jumping, falling, and dying again and again… forever.
Strangeland is this crazy point-and-click game with an awesome story and puzzles that will make your brain explode. After nearly 10 years of making it, we’re finally ready to show off our second game, which is the follow-up to the super-popular Primordia.
Strangeland is unlike anything you’ve seen before. Even in the real world, carnivals always feel weird, like they’re in this space between what’s real and what’s not, and that’s where Strangeland lives—only way weirder. It’s like a nightmare version of a carnival, with freaky mirrors, strange monsters, and scary stuff that somehow feels real, like it’s showing you the worst parts of people. And this place is not the real world, not by a long shot. In fact figuring out where you are and who you are might just be the most important thing you need to do. THRESHOLD
As you wander through Strangeland you will need to find crazy tools and get the help of even stranger creatures to get past some wild obstacles. You might end up making a sword out of iron you stole from a massive, hungry dog, and then you’ll sharpen it with rage and sadness. Or you could charm the eye out of a monster with ten legs. Oh, and you can even ride a huge cicada to the edge of nowhere… While you’re stuck in this nightmare, death can’t really hold you back, and you’ll use that immortality to your advantage as you face all sorts of terrifying enemies.
This weird, dark world is full of monsters and strange puzzles that will mess with your head. Unlike other games that just give you one way to solve stuff, Strangeland lets you figure things out on your own. Maybe you’ll win a carnival game by being a sharpshooter, or maybe you’ll fix some crazy machines with electrical stuff. Some players will decode weird riddles, while others will spot hidden clues all around. In the end Strangeland is your story. You are not just watching; you’re living it.
