GAME OVERVIEW
Red Barrels wants to drag you into a nightmare that will mess with your head—this time, you don’t have to go through it alone. Whether you try to survive on your own or team up with friends, if you can make it out alive and finish the “therapy,” Murkoff might let you go… but will you even be you when it’s over?
Set during the Cold War, you and a bunch of other unlucky souls are kidnapped by the creepy Murkoff Corporation to be guinea pigs in their twisted experiments on mind control and brainwashing. The world around you is full of distrust violence and constant fear. Your morals? They’ll be tested. Your will? It’ll be pushed to the edge. Your sanity? Don’t even ask. All of this for “science” and some shady corporate profit.
You’re all trapped in Murkoff’s terrifying facility. You can try to do the Trials alone or with 2, 3, or 4 players, but working together might make surviving a bit easier… or a lot harder. It’s not mandatory to cooperate for every objective, but you’ll need all the help you can get. Ready or Not
The goal? Escape. Survive long enough to finish Murkoff’s twisted therapy, and maybe—just maybe—get out and go back to “normal.” To do that, you need to complete the Trials and challenges. Trials are like intense story-driven therapy sessions that take time to finish while MK-Challenges are faster crazier versions of those hidden in parts of the map that have been reworked for maximum terror.
In classic Outlast style, you’ll spend most of your time avoiding enemies, hiding, and running for your life. Murkoff will hand you some tools to help you stay undetected slow down enemies, and make a getaway, but you will have to fight for every advantage. Getting those tools and upgrading them will take some serious effort, and if you slip up, well… good luck.
